The first of Suzuki’s new four-stroke generation boat engines DF70A is an example of achievements! It includes «Multi–Point, Sequential » electronic fuel injection, a powerful 2.59:1 gear ratio and a self-regulating chain. It all comes with Suzuki’s Lean Burn Control system. The latest models also support the Suzuki Troll Mode system as well as the CAN2 communication protocol.

SUZUKI DF90/80/70

The DF90/80/70 engines were completely re-engineered, redesigning every part and component, and using the injection engine knowledge and technical experience gained over the past ten years to create even lighter and more compact outboards. Similar to the DF 140/115/100, Suzuki also uses an “offset” crankshaft for the new models, which ensures better engine balancing and reduces vibration. The engine’s newly designed downsized cylinder head makes the new DF90A smaller than its predecessor, creating the most compact outboard in its class.

Ten years after pioneering four-stroke engine innovation, which began with the award-winning DF70, Suzuki has once again transformed the category to incorporate the latest technologies in the DF90, DF80 and DF70 models, the first of SUZUKI LEAN BURN’s new generation of four-stroke engines.

Leaner fuel control system.

In order to get maximum efficiency from every drop of fuel, Suzuki engineers developed a Lean Burn Control System that controls fuel delivery according to operating conditions. This system achieves greater fuel efficiency and provides a wider and more economical combustion range that works right up to the top speed range, as well as more efficient and economical operation at low operating speeds.

Smoother shifting and a new starting system.

All three outboards offer easier shifting with a newly upgraded transmission and shifting system that is designed to be more precise and designed for smoother shifting and reduced noise.

Using a shift sensor allows you to control the shift action with the help of the Electronic Control Module (ECM), which at the same time adjusts the ignition for more accurate shifting.

With Suzuki’s new starter system, all you have to do is turn the key and release it, as the starter does the rest, staying activated until the engine starts. The system provides a smoother and faster start.

New hydraulic lift and tilt limit system.

The DF90/80/70 are equipped with a new hydraulic lift and pitch limit system designed to protect the boat hull from damage that could be caused by lifting the outboard motor too high. This system includes a pitch angle sensor that functions as both an engine lift limiter and a roll sensor, making it easier to install an outboard motor on any type of boat.
