The Suzuki DF150A boat engine is based on a large displacement 2867 ccm, DOHC four-cylinder engine block. Suzuki engineers have focused on this time-tested big engine block, making it the most durable four-stroke boat engine in the 150 hp class, with impressive torque and fuel economy. Several modern technical solutions are used in the design of the engine – including the intake manifold with variable geometry «Multi-Stage Induction» and the «Suzuki Selective Rotation» system. The engine is offered with both manual and S.P.C. electronic control device.
In the new DF175AP and DF150AP, Suzuki has improved the overall engine control technologies to deliver excellent power and easier engine control along with good fuel economy figures, all in a super compact and lightweight engine.
In this “Big Block” 2.9-liter class, where the four-cylinder in-line DOHC engine uses a high compression ratio (10.2:1), the outboard motor delivers excellent low-end torque and impressive acceleration.
To increase power and engine performance, each engine is equipped with a Semi-Direct air intake system to provide the engine with cooler air flow. O₂ Sensor, monitors engine emissions, Knock Sensor monitors engine performance.
In addition, Suzuki has used Counter Balancer System and Thrust Mount System to ensure super-smooth engine performance. Air intake resonator ensures quiet operation. The Suzuki Offset drive axle moves the center of gravity forward closer to the boat’s side, thus improving engine balance and reducing vibration while reducing engine size.
Other high-end features include Suzuki’s Selective Rotation, which allows you to change the operation (direction of rotation) of the engine in either direction – clockwise, as is customary in all marine engines, or counter-clockwise, for trouble-free use of multiple engines on the same boat with different for directions of propeller rotation. Suzuki Lean Burn Control and Suzuki Precision Control provide excellent fuel economy over a wide operating range and smoother power transfer to the propeller. Suzuki offers a Keyless Start System (contactless key) for easier engine starting. The system makes the engine safe from theft, as the engine cannot be started without the corresponding access code. In addition, the key fob-like transmitter will act as a float so that the user can retrieve it from the water if it has fallen overboard.
Both new engines feature new 3D decals and paint in Pearl Nebular Black, Suzuki’s brand new premium black – or Cool White, allowing customers to choose the perfect match for their boat.
